Injecting an estimated $10m-$12m into the Fraser Coast economy in the past year, major events continue to serve as an exciting and engaging way to attract visitors to a destination, providing specific and unique experiences. Events are aimed at meeting tourist's expectation and can influence the development of a region as a holiday destination. Food 'n' Groove Fridays

Launched in January 2019, this exciting Friday night food scene is a summer season must do. Leave the kitchen and let someone else do the cooking for you with a selection of international cuisine, live music and a licensed bar. Check the event calendar for upcoming dates and locations.

 




 

Relish Fraser Coast - Food & Wine Festival
June 

Maryborough's heritage streetscapes and stunning riverside parklands serve as a splendid backdrop to savour the tastes on offer at this showcase of regional wines and fine local produce. Sip beer and wine in tasting sessions and watch cooking demonstrations from local chefs. 

 

 

Mary Poppins Festival
July 

Celebrate the art of storytelling and discover the magic and history of Maryborough during a celebration that is supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! P.L Travers, creator of the beloved nanny, was born in the heritage city and her connection is remembered throughout the festival, in an explosion of colour, art, culture and practically perfect fun for everyone

 

Hervey Bay Ocean Festival

Celebrating the region's connection with the sea and the annual return of the humpback whales, the festival follows the Blessing of the Fleet at the start of the whale watching season. Secure a possie on the esplanade to watch the colourful floats roll by at the Illumination Parade and Concert and jump into the water or watch from the shore as the Paddle Out for Whales takes place in the Bay. The festivities include events promoting conservation and celebrating Hervey Bay's whale connection.
