Sunday By The Sea!

The open-air event is the next big outdoor adventure on Fraser Coast’s social calendar!

Set within the vast expanse of Seafront Oval overlooking the Pialba beachfront, Wetside and Skateside, Sunday By The Sea offers enough space for families and friends to enjoy a full day of fun and activity, while being completely covid safe!

Enjoy the ocean views or amble through the precinct whilst enjoying live music on the oval’s sound stage! Market stalls and food vendors will offer the best street food the region has to offer, but much more is in store for attendees to enjoy!

FCTE Event Manager, Robyn Peach said It’s great to be planning events for the Fraser coast community again.

Events are being run a bit differently to what people are used to.  We will be implementing COVID safe plans at all our activities,  so contact tracing is a must, as we’ll need to know who attends and social distancing rules will be in place at all times”.

By law, FCTE will be required to collect details of all attendees on the day and all patrons will be required to sign in and out of the event using allocated QR codes for contract tracing purposes.

“People will not be able to gather for long periods in large groups, but we do know the Fraser Coast community is very supportive of our events and are already practicing social distancing, which is vital in supporting the safe delivery of all our future events”.

The tourism body said without the support and cooperation of attendees and participants FCTE runs the risk of not being able to host future events, and while it is confident the event will run without a hitch, the team has added the following message to social media posts as a precaution:

“Due to the changing nature of COVID-19, FCTE wishes to advise that in promoting the event it may not proceed.’’

To ensure the safety of event attendees and the community, hand sanitising stations will be positioned throughout Seafront Oval, contact capturing and social distancing enforced, plus there will be lots of signage to remind everyone to please follow COVID Safe measures.  Sunday By The Sea will be run on a QLD Health COVID Safe Event Plan to ensure all the appropriate safety measures are in place.  QR Codes will be displayed at stations on entry at the free event.
