ATEC SOUTHERN QUEENSLAND VIRTUAL WORKSHOP

2021-03-18

Last week Mark Juppenlatz and Jan Foletta attended the ATEC Southern Queensland Inbound Virtual Workshop with over 100 tourism buyers and sellers and 1200 virtual meetings over 3 days!

Fraser Coast has certainly turned the chapter from when we were a sleepy town and a starting point for Fraser Island, where we are now gaining recognition for the abundance of experiences we have here in region to offer for 365 days of the year from the West Coast Tours, Sailing Charters, Diving, indigenous experiences and hiking tours. Add this to the array of accommodation and touring options, plus world class whale watching that we have had here on the Fraser Coast for many years, is certainly making the Fraser Coast a sort after destination.

The word out there is that the consumer is looking for small numbers and nature bound experiences away from the major destinations, and the Fraser Coast certainly does offer that, with our range of accommodation and family-friendly beaches.

We have had a very good run here on the Fraser Coast with our domestic market due to the border closures, but we also have to keep in mind that when the borders do open, we have to be ready to welcome back our International guests. Jan and Mark have certainly been keeping up the chats and keeping everyone up to date with new products and refurbishments, if you have something new that we do not know about or you have undertaken on a refurbishment, please reach out to us, so we can keep everyone up to date.

Another key area in our meetings was forward bookings and rates.  Whilst the border opening dates are yet to be advised, many of the buyers that we met with advised that they are receiving bookings and quotation request for late 2021 onwards with some even in 2023.  As a result of this trend, inbound operators are very keen to receive your 2022/23 inbound rates as soon as possible.
