Injecting an estimated $10m-$12m into the Fraser Coast economy in the past year, major events continue to serve as an exciting and engaging way to attract visitors to a destination, providing specific and unique experiences. Events are aimed at meeting tourist's expectation and can influence the development of a region as a holiday destination. Food 'n' Groove Fridays

Say hello to an exciting new Friday night food scene launching on January 4 in Hervey Bay. Food ‘n’ Groove Fridays is set to bring City Park, adjacent to the Fraser Coast Cultural Centre in Pialba, alive. Leave the kitchen once a month and let someone else do the cooking for you with a selection of international cuisine, live music and a licensed bar.

Relish Fraser Coast - Food & Wine Festival
June 1

Maryborough's heritage streetscapes and stunning riverside parklands serve as a splendid backdrop to savour the tastes on offer at this showcase of regional wines and fine local produce.Sip beer and wine in tasting sessions and watch cooking demonstrations from local chefs.

Mary Poppins Festival
July 1 - 6

Celebrate the art of storytelling and discover the magic and history of Maryborough during the two-week celebration that is supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! P.L Travers, creator of the beloved nanny, was born in the heritage city and her connection is remembered with all kinds of activities including nanny races, chimney sweep challenges, art bursting in the streets + more.

 

Maryborough Markets - Every Thursday from 9am to 1pm

Every Thursday, Maryborough's city centre undergoes an amazing transformation into a colourful outdoor heritage bazaar. Wander arould over 120 stalls with an amazing array of farm fresh produce and unique wares. Original hand-made craft, homemade treats, artwork, jewellery, clothes, accessories, natural beauty products and gorgeous cut flowers.  Click here to apply to become a stallholder.

 

 

Hervey Bay Ocean Festival

Celebrating the region's connection with the sea and the annual return of the humpback whales, the festival follows the Blessing of the Fleet at the start of the whale watching season. Secure a possie on the esplanade to watch the colourful floats roll by at the Illumination Parade and Concert and jump into the water or watch from the shore as the Paddle Out for Whales takes place in the Bay. The festivities include events promoting conservation and celebrating Hervey Bay's whale connection.
 

 

Carols in the Park
December 9

This much loved annual regional Christmas carol event is held each year at Queens Park in Maryborough. Festivities will start at 2.30pm with the Apex Santa Fair followed by Twilight Christmas Markets and activities in the park at 4pm. The carols will begin at 5.30pm and the Ergon Energy Fireworks Display to end the night at 8pm. 

 

 

New Years Eve by the Beach
December 31st

Live entertainment, food and craft stores, kids rides, face painting and the Wide Bay Laser Skirmish will fill the Torquay Foreshore in Hervey Bay as we celebrate New Years Eve at Bill Fraser Park from 4pm - 8pm.
